Lake Mansion Styled Shoot with Kate Stapleton
Every once in a great while a Photographer reaches out to me and asks me to create florals for a Styled Shoot in the heart of wedding season. It is always fun exploring new opportunities by getting to work with people you have never met. Somehow the shoot comes together among all the busy schedules and chaos that a Wedding Season Week ensues.
On this occasion Kate was searching for a Florist on social media and I reached out to her. She sent me an inspiration photo of a bouquet she was looking for. When we talked on the phone she decided mostly soft pinks and white with some draping foliage was her goal, but I could have rein as to which flowers and how the bouquet came about. I have been eyeing Pitcher Plant at the Wholesale Flower Market for weeks at this point. I thought by sure it would be rotten or some other Florist would have taken it, but there was one bunch left. The darker burgundy tones and white freckles lent itself so perfectly to my vision for the bouquet.
I love unusual flowers. Flowers that might on their own might not be thought of as beautiful, but when given the chance and some friends ends up being the perfect unexpected addition.
Delivery Day came, Everleigh was asleep in the car and as things go, the day was running a little behind. I placed the bouquet in the cooler at Lake Mansion, gave a few instructions and we were off. Stepping into the Reno location was just amazing. I had no clue it was ever there! Two phone calls and a few emails was as far as my networking would go this time around. I would have to wait to see the photos to have any kind of reference to the vendor's work. I think this shoot turned out pretty swell and I am glad to share it with you.
